The private autopsy, if performed by an experienced forensic pathologist can help provide cause of death and manner of death determinations as well as quality assurance data for medical caregivers.   In circumstances of trauma, pain and suffering issues can also often be addressed.  Autopsies include documentary photography, microscopic examinations, relevant medical record review.  Autopsies may also include toxicology (as necessary) and radiology (as necessary) and these would be arranged in advance is desired at additional cost.
